We at Eye to Eye believe only the best will do for our customers, hence, the reason we have a wide selection of designer to non designer frames. We offer a fantastic selection of prescription glasses with over a hundred frames for you to select from which includes full frames, half frames, rimless and plastic frames.

We excel in the fact that we hold the latest designs in glasses and sunglasses which no other opticians have in the area. Also if you like something that we don’t have we will try hardest to get that frame for you. We also offer a 12 month interest free credit payment scheme with a 20% deposit.

We also have an extremely large selection of lenses for our spectacles. Scratch resistant lenses are included as standard with the additional option of choosing between poly-carbon, transition, hard multi anti reflection (HMAR), diamond hard, high index super slim light weight lenses and nine shades of sunglass tints. All our rimless spectacles are fitted with ultra-tough, lightweight, poly-carbon prescription lenses as standard.

Spectacle lenses were traditionally made of glass but most lenses now are lightweight and plastic. There are now wide ranges of different materials available to suit your prescription and lifestyle

We offer single vision lenses, Bifocal (with line for reading) and Varifocal (without the reading line).

Single-Vision Lenses

The simplest form of spectacle or contact lens is the single-vision lens, made to a single prescription to correct a particular eyesight problem. To correct short sight concave lenses are usually used, they are generally thinner at the centre of the lens that at the edge. To correct long sight convex lenses are used, they are usually thinner at the edge than at the centre of the lens.

Bifocals

Bifocal lenses contain two optical corrections which contain a distinct diving line between the two parts. Patients who have become presbyopic and need a different prescription for close work are those who commonly use bifocal lenses. Distance vision is corrected by the upper part of the lens and near vision is corrected by the lower half. Lenses that have three sections are called trifocals; they incorporate a correction for intermediate vision. There are a range of designs in which bifocal and trifocal come but nowadays varifocal lenses are much more likely to be prescribed.

Varifocal or Progressive Lenses

Varifocal lenses, also known as progressive lenses, are used for correcting presbyopia but unlike bifocal lenses have no visible dividing lines between the different corrections. There is a graduated section where the power of the lenses gradually progresses smoothly from one prescription to another, which allows the wearer to see clearly at all distances. These lenses also have the benefit of looking better - they don't draw attention to the ageing process. A range of varifocal designs is available depending on your lifestyle and occupation. Modern lens technology means that there are many different designs and materials to choose from. Your optometrists or dispensing optician will be able to advise you on the best lenses to suit your individual requirements.
